Deep divesOther Insurance

Term insurance pays for a defined insured event during a defined period without building an investment balance. Bundled life or pension products combine insurance cover with saving, guarantees, or investment funds. The bundle may meet a real need, but comparison requires separating the protection value, investment path, total costs, flexibility, and early-exit outcome.

The unbundling test

LayerQuestion
ProtectionWhat event, amount, exclusions, and term are insured?
InvestmentWhere is the savings portion invested, and who bears market risk?
CostWhich acquisition, administration, fund, guarantee, and risk-cover costs apply?
ExitWhat are the surrender and paid-up values by year?
FitDoes one contract duration match both the protection and saving horizons?

Risikolebensversicherung (term life insurance) pays only if the insured death occurs during the term; it is not a wealth-building product [1].

Worked comparison

A family needs €300,000 of death cover for 15 years and also wants flexible long-term saving. One bundled offer provides both for 30 years.

The decision frame compares the bundle with the same cover and savings objective evaluated separately. It tests whether combined pricing or guarantees justify reduced transparency and exit flexibility. It does not assume that separation or bundling always wins.
