Money After Moving to Germany

How do Russian-speaking adults rebuild income, organize household money and make decisions after moving to Germany? geldchen is running an open study to test where real difficulties match the topics of a financial course—and where they do not.

Field period: 1 August 2026, 20:00–1 September 2026, 23:59 (Europe/Berlin) · Survey language: Russian · Time: approximately 10 minutes

The respondent form is currently available only in Russian.

Who can take part

Russian-speaking adults aged 18 or older who currently live in Germany after moving from another country. Participation is voluntary and independent of any purchase, course enrolment or prize-draw entry.

What we ask

Broad migration and household context, work and income transition, household financial resilience, decisions and sources of information. Most answers use categories or ranges; prior country, migration context, household income and free text can be skipped.

The survey asks for no name, email or participant identifier. Google sign-in is required only to limit the form to one response; email collection is off, and geldchen does not receive the account. Please do not enter names, employers, exact addresses, account details or information about another identifiable person in free text.

Method and publication

This is an open, voluntary sample—not a representative survey of all Russian-speaking migrants in Germany. Findings will describe respondents and will not automatically be generalized to the whole population. After data collection, geldchen will publish:

  • aggregate findings and study limitations;
  • the complete questionnaire and data-cleaning rules;
  • metric definitions and enough method detail to reproduce the calculations.

The row-level response dataset will not be published. Groups smaller than ten will be merged or omitted.

Privacy and the separate follow-up

Full details are in the research-survey privacy notice. After submitting, participants can optionally open a separate form for the draw, one results email or news about geldchen materials, events and products. geldchen receives no shared key and does not connect that form to survey responses.
